Serving Boston

Two vital programs, initially formed as outreach ministries of Trinity Church, are now managed by the Trinity Boston Foundation and supported by a diverse group of funders. Both programs are built on a model of long-term engagement and tailored support for individual people.

Trinity Education for Excellence Program (TEEP) — serves ninety-six 7th–12th graders in the Boston Public Schools. TEEP focuses on developing learning and social skills and fosters transformational core values such as respect, restraint and responsibility. These core values permeate every facet of our five-week summer program and academic year offerings. We work with each student through crucial years of development through middle and high school, in order to effect real change and establish solid mentoring that makes a deep and lasting impact.

One of the most effective aspects of TEEP is the high-school Leadership Development Program (LDP), in which the students practice leadership lessons as counselors, mentors, and role models for TEEP middle school students. One hundred percent of the students who complete our LDP pursue post-secondary education, with TEEP graduates now at Johnson & Wales, UMass Boston, Syracuse, Holy Cross, Wheaton, and other four-year colleges.

Trinity Boston Counseling Center (TBCC) — has served over 600 individuals since its founding in 2002, offering counseling and support groups to people without access to quality mental health care. Many of our clients are referred to us by pastors of different churches throughout the metropolitan area, and all clients have the opportunity to examine their lives within the context of their faith if they wish to do so. Our staff is a combination of paid and volunteer licensed clinicians as well as interns from area graduate schools. In addition to our work with churches across the city, we have innovative partnerships with many non-profit organizations and government agencies including City Year, Pine Street Inn, and the Department of Youth Services.
