Who We Are

About TEEP
TEEP is a free, out-of-school time program for Boston Public middle and high school students (7th – 12th grades). Our mission is to create a safe community where every member is inspired to discover, empowered to engage, and individually affirmed.

We have built our program around our core values, the 5 Rs: Respect, Responsibility, Restraint, Reciprocity, and Redemption. A holistic understanding of these five values provides students a decision-making framework that can help shape their choices, both at TEEP and in all aspects of their lives.

We have collaborated with the Boston Public School system to set the following goals for our students:
  • Increased Academic Performance: Students will improve in math and literacy.
  • Improved Self-Esteem: Students will improve their self-esteem regarding math, language arts, music, and self-expression.
  • Development of Life Skills: Students will demonstrate an understanding of the 5 R’s (above), with visible application of these values to their daily lives at school and in their communities.
  • Community Leadership Roles: Students will develop leadership skills and become leaders at TEEP and in their communities.
  • College Education: With support from TEEP staff, students will apply for college and financial aid programs.
